Playtime & Progress

Happy Saturday!!!

First, let me tell you all that the Triplets are coming along splendidly.
They are in the final stages and will posted on the blog and
in the Etsy Store by lunchtime tomorrow!

We had a lovely time at the Raleigh flea market today.
Keith's friend Sam is in town for a visit, so the three
of us took The Monkey out for a day of sunshine and
treasure hunting.

For some reason, I was on a rooster kick.

And of course, I visited my favorite vendor.
The old man with rusty wrought iron.

I picked up a couple new figurines for the studio.
I love, love, LOVE the color and patina on this elk.
Elk?
Moose?
Whatever.

And he had some lovely metal flowers.
I didn't buy them, but I did snap this picture . . .
which I may use to decorate with in lieu of the real thing.

My "bit boy" was there too,
selling his usual spread of burs, bits, and buds.
He has a huge selection, all so rough and tumble,
scattered about in random bins.
Organized chaos.
But his prices are good and I was in need of a few tools.

It was an amazing day.
I think my family is amazing.

Keith and my Monkey.

Mason was afraid of Sam's beard.
He wouldn't take a photo with the guys.

Sam caught Keith, Mason, and I in this old mirror,
and snapped a photo.
I was in love with this old hand-felted blanket.

Good day.
It was a good day.

Wishing you all well,
JJ

  4. Your little Monkey is sooo cute..he looks like a little sleeping angel.

I didn't even think of the flea market having bits & polishing discs. I may have to drive to Raleigh soon. Do you know if the polishing discs are priced reasonably?
