Southern Frost

Cozy weekend with homemade soup
and sourdough bread.
Twinkling lights and candles and glitterglittereverywhere.

The Amaryllis is close to blooming.
I imagine she'll be right on time this year.

And outside,
abandoned chalk.
Forsaken in favor of the warmth indoors.
And the first white frosting of the season.

A tiny snow.
Snow is a pretty thing and a pretty rare thing here.
Here's hoping for another round soon.

Happy Monday!
JJ

  3. We'll take it Anna-Karin!

What amazed me on the walk this morning was the creativity shown by the NC kids with just one inch of snow!

  4. What IS that house of yours? Little snippets, I'd like to wander the halls with a steaming cup and explore it all.

  5. Nothing more Christmas-y than your berry pics with snow. They make me feel like climbing into your blog instead of preparing lectures, getting ready for committee meetings and grading another stack of papers. I really love them. I'd love your permission to use one of them on my mythology class blog with a copyright 2010 credit to you, dear friend, if you'd grant me that right. Let me know before this evening, yay or nay (neigh????); thanks. Either way, I'll still love ya. Promise.

    xo,

    me
