During Van Gogh's lifetime....he only sold one painting..The Red Vineyard, 1888, oil on canvas......he produced seventy-five paintings before he ended his own life by shooting himself in a wheat field at the age of thirty-seven. Amazing tenacity he had to endure at his craft in the face of rejection and incredible hardships and suffering throughout his life...he must have questioned his abilities. I bring this up...because of what i consider a recent failure...my husband brought up Van Gogh telling me something i had never heard about him... wow...that's pretty damn humbling...i guess just having the privelge to be creative is a blessing...maybe the fuel for it is just pure raw passion....
