I love Ira Glass, and this is brilliant!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this.Thank you for posting. xoword ver- ploggynt. I think that's what I'm doing in general!
That's exactly why I force myself to enter as many challenges as I can. Ira hit the nail on the head here.
taking that in today!love and light
During Van Gogh's lifetime....he only sold one painting..The Red Vineyard, 1888, oil on canvas......he produced seventy-five paintings before he ended his own life by shooting himself in a wheat field at the age of thirty-seven. Amazing tenacity he had to endure at his craft in the face of rejection and incredible hardships and suffering throughout his life...he must have questioned his abilities. I bring this up...because of what i consider a recent failure...my husband brought up Van Gogh telling me something i had never heard about him... wow...that's pretty damn humbling...i guess just having the privelge to be creative is a blessing...maybe the fuel for it is just pure raw passion....
Thank you for posting this. :)
Damn! That is THE best commentary on the creative struggle that I have ever heard. Thank you!!
Thanks for the reminder.
YES. I saw this a couple of months ago and it was such a beautiful/necessary revelation. I don't think I can be reminded of this often enough.
Oh Amen indeed, the words of encouragement i needed today, thank you Rosy and thank you Ira
Thanks for this post, it reminds me to keep working at what is mine. I don't believe very many people understand the struggles creative people go through.
God I love Ira Glass.
