Life Lately

We've been here two weeks.
Unreal.

My world lately has been learning the light switches.
How to install a dishwasher.
Generally just settling in, one box,
one curtain rod, one towel bar at a time.

These images aren't new to those of you
who saw my facebook post, but for others . . .
welcome to my home-in-the-making.

We've gotten appliances since I took this photo.
The kitchen opens up to what was once the covered back porch,
and is now a drop down dining room.
I love all the light here.

It's surreal, waking up inside these walls each morning.
Even my unrelenting husband yields to the fact that,
surely, there must have been some sort of
divine assistance with all this.

As of now,
we close on our old house in three weeks,
and without any overlap in mortgage payments.
The chaotic and scattered pieces of this puzzle
are so far falling neatly
together, and with impeccable timing.

I don't know exactly What is out there in the morning light,
or why it seems to like me,
but I smile and nod a quiet "thank you"
because I'm not sure we could have ever made it here
on our own.

  2. Hi Jess.
Congrats on your new home! It's beautiful, and the light is fantastic. (Part of the reason that I bought my house is that it also has good light.) Much happiness to you all!

  13. It is so appropriate that you move into this house for Easter, for the Resurrection!!! Christ is amazing. He rose and He raises us up. He is LOVE itself. May He bless your home with His Love all the days of your life. Amen.
Your kitchen is stunning. It will be a pleasure to prepare meals in it -- so important -- since we spend so much time in our kitchens. I love the brickwork, the windows, the arches, and the counter tops. Enjoy in good health!
