The Fruits of Play

I came home from Texas ready to build.  The past
week has been a joyful one in the studio- not quite all it
was or could be, but so much better than it has
been in awhile.  I made silver things and strong coffee,
broke out some old songs, opened the windows and let the
breeze and even a bit of spring rain blow in.

I leave again tomorrow for Dallas and the final trip
until the end of May.  It will be nice to be home for two months,
and there is much to look forward to.  Meanwhile, Beadfest Texas
should be a fun event, and being that it is a venue I've never taught in before, I'm excited to go.

  3. Beautiful stuff! Would love to have some of your work one day, I've never caught your listings in time. That ought to tell you something - I know of no one else who sells out that fast. I've followed you off and on over the past couple years, being a maker myself with a long ago background in metalwork and putting my toe in the water again the last few years. Just read your last couple postings and not sure at what level you are back creating, but totally get the burnout (though you would never know by looking at your work). Have you thought about getting help with the production end of it? Whatever capacity of creating makes your heart sing is what you should do, but I think sometimes we make it too hard on ourselves, and the solution can be collaboration and multiplying ourselves through others. Takes some of the pressure off if the income end of it is necessary. Your stuff is so special and falling down gorgeous, I just feel like you could put this big explosion of beautiful work out there if you brought in help to grow your business. No one can do it alone. You've got the whole package, it's a soulful, sexy brand. IF it's what you wanted, and what feeds your soul. Fine line, I know. I am probably going to be forced to sink or swim with it as a livelihood myself pretty soon, and I'm half worried it will take the fun out of it.
